Call to Prayer – 7/2/24

A Letter to Pittsburgh Presbytery from
Rev. Brian Wallace
Associate Minister for Emerging Ministries &
Acting Head of Staff
Tuesday, July 2, 2024

14 Also, let’s hold on to the confession since we have a great high priest who passed through the heavens, who is Jesus, God’s Son; 15 because we don’t have a high priest who can’t sympathize with our weaknesses but instead one who was tempted in every way that we are, except without sin. 16 Finally, let’s draw near to the throne of favor with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need help.
Hebrews 4:14–16 (CEB)

Dear Friends-

As I several weeks ago, I want to use this space for the next few weeks to call us all to a season of prayer.

This week, I would ask you to keep in prayer:

  • Our General Assembly Commissioners, as they gather for plenary meetings in Salt Lake City this week.
    • Sarah Robbins
    • Lindsay White
    • Hunter Farrell
    • Elder Alex Matthews (Grace)
    • Elder Dana Nicodemus (Hiland)
    • Elder John Wray (Waverly)
    • YAAD – Grace Bogdon (John McMillan)
  • All of those who will support the work of the General Assembly, including our own Carla Campbell, who is serving as the Moderator of the Advisory Committee on the Constitution at this year’s assembly.
  • Our nation as we celebrate the 4th of July, and that God would grant our leaders wisdom as they make decisions that impact us all.
  • The ruling elders in our churches, particularly those who are facing significant decisions about the future of their congregations.
  • Our church communities: East Liberty, East Union, Eastminster, First (Edgewood), Elfinwild, and First (Elizabeth)

In Christ,

Brian
