Call to Prayer – 7/11/24

A Letter to Pittsburgh Presbytery from
Rev. Brian Wallace
Associate Minister for Emerging Ministries &
Acting Head of Staff
Tuesday, July 11, 2024

14 Also, let’s hold on to the confession since we have a great high priest who passed through the heavens, who is Jesus, God’s Son; 15 because we don’t have a high priest who can’t sympathize with our weaknesses but instead one who was tempted in every way that we are, except without sin. 16 Finally, let’s draw near to the throne of favor with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need help.
Hebrews 4:14–16 (CEB)

Dear Friends-

As I said several weeks ago, I want to use this space for the next few weeks to call us all to a season of prayer.

This week, I would ask you to be in prayer:

  • For those impacted by summer weather, particularly those in the path of Hurricane Beryl.
  • For our churches that are in a season of pastoral transition.
  • For kids who are attending VBS, camps, and going on trips this week (and the adults who lead them)
  • For traveling mercies as people take time away.
  • For families as they gather this summer, may it be a time of reconnecting, strengthening relationships, and healing where there is strain.
  • For those who have COVID, particularly those who were at General Assembly.
  • For our PC(USA) national staff, who are responsible for preparing and implementing much of what the General Assembly acted on last week.
  • For our church communities: Forest Avenue, Forest Hills, Fox Chapel

In Christ,
