Call to Prayer 6/20/24

A Letter to Pittsburgh Presbytery from
Rev. Brian Wallace
Associate Minister for Emerging Ministries &
Acting Head of Staff
Thursday, June 20, 2024

14 Also, let’s hold on to the confession since we have a great high priest who passed through the heavens, who is Jesus, God’s Son; 15 because we don’t have a high priest who can’t sympathize with our weaknesses but instead one who was tempted in every way that we are, except without sin. 16 Finally, let’s draw near to the throne of favor with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need help.
Hebrews 4:14–16 (CEB)

Dear Friends-

As I wrote several weeks ago, I want to use this space for the next few weeks to call us all to a season of prayer.

This week, I would ask you be in prayer:

  • For our General Assembly Commissioners, as they begin committee meetings next week
    • Sarah Robbins
    • Lindsay White
    • Hunter Farrell
    • Elder Alex Matthews (Grace)
    • Elder Dana Nicodemus (Hiland)
    • Elder John Wray (Waverly)
    • YAAD – Grace Bogdon (John McMillan)
  • For all of those who will support the work of the General Assembly, including our own Carla Campbell, who is serving as the Moderator of the Advisory Committee on the Constitution at this year’s assembly.
  • For the many children (and their families) who will be attending Vacation Bible School at our churches this summer, some for the first time.
  • For members of our Presbytery who are celebrating milestone events this summer, especially for those who are celebrating graduations (theirs or a loved one)
  • For our church communities: Cross Roads (Monroeville), Deer Creek, First (Duquesne)

In Christ,
