A summary of actions and information from the meetings of Pittsburgh Presbytery

September 25, 2014 meeting of Pittsburgh Presbytery:

Presbytery staff led worship with the Rev. Dr. Sheldon Sorge preaching; the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper was celebrated

Ruling and Teaching Elders of the Presbytery who joined the Church Triumphant in the last year were listed and remembered during Communion

Dedicated the renovated recreation building of Crestfield Camp & Conference Center as Ed’s Place, in honor of the Rev. Dr. Ed Bowen

Received $2,012.26 in offering at the worship service to be divided between the Lazarus Fund and the Hunger Fund

Continued a conversation on the cost of racism as organized by the Executive Committee, the Black Presbyterian Caucus, and the Amos 5:24 Ministry Team

The following Corresponding Members were seated: The Rev. Ellie Johns-Kelley, a member of Lake Erie Presbytery, the Rev. Al Stuart, a member of Beaver-Butler Presbytery, and the Rev. Ron Church, a member of the Presbytery of Mississippi
