Welcome Rev. Ayana Teter as Associate Minister for Outreach

We welcome the Rev. Ayana Teter to the staff of Pittsburgh Presbytery. Ayana will serve as the Associate Minister for Outreach and contact for congregations in the South Branch beginning January 22, 2013.

Ayana is a Teaching Elder who has most recently been serving as a co-pastor and head-of-staff of a racially, theologically, and culturally diverse congregation in the urban Midwest.  She is gifted in administrative leadership, trained in systems theory, and walks in ministries of compassion. Her call is to encourage and equip God’s people to do God’s will and passionately serve God’s people so that they will grow up into the “full stature of Christ” and mature in the walk of faith.

Ayana received her Masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas.  She was the 2006 recipient of the Rachel Henderlite Award for making significant contributions to cross-cultural relationships. In addition, Ayana has extensive training in family, group, and individual counseling.

Ayana enjoys the passionate worship of the living God, sharing life’s adventures with her family and friends, planning for her future (and hoped for!) homestead in the hills, and perfecting her homemade veggie pizza recipe.

Please join us in welcoming her to the staff!

You may email Ayana at ateter@pghpresbytery.org or call her at 412-323-1400 X 316.
